Technical Notes About .m4a files
The .m4a file extension is used by audio files that are encoded using the AAC (Advanced Audio Coding) format. They are identical to .mp4 files, the only difference being that .m4a files are for only audio, whereas .mp4 files are for video and audio.
We use .m4a/AAC files in PodSpot studios primarily because the format has extremely wide support and works on almost all devices. However, if your device cannot open an .m4a file, one common workaround is to change the file extension to .mp4 and try opening the file again.
If you are struggling with opening your audio files, please contact PodSpot support and we'll be able to help.
